Jan Sternin

As Global Managing Director of Business Development, Jan Sternin is responsible for direct marketing and business efforts across Situs’ integrated platform and works closely with Situs’ partner, Oasis Real Estate Partners. Based in Houston, the Situs Companies offer advisory services throughout the life cycle of the loan including due diligence, servicing, asset management and disposition and outsourcing solutions.

Ms. Sternin has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. She previously served as senior vice president of commercial and multifamily for the Mortgage Bankers Association and as CEO of MISMO, the MBA’s technology initiative for creating uniform data standards for the real estate finance community. Ms. Sternin also served as senior vice president at Midland Loan Services, where she oversaw the marketing and sales activities for the firm’s commercial loan servicing, asset management and advisory services. Other past experience includes working with numerous government agencies such as the Resolution Trust Corporation, Office of Thrift Supervision, Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation, and the Federal Home Loan Bank System. Ms. Sternin has served on the MBA’s Commercial Board of Governors and on the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association Board in both the US and Canada and holds the Certified Mortgage Banker designation. Ms. Sternin earned a B.S. from Baker University and a M.B.A. from the University of Missouri in Kansas City.
